Mother’s Day Carnival at Kiddiwinkie Schoolhouse @ Novena

Happy Mother’s Day to all our amazing mothers!

Kiddiwinkie Schoolhouse @ Novena held a Mother’s Day carnival on 11th May 2018 in conjunction with their Start Small Dream Big (SSDB) project – Little Hearts in a Jar!

The carnival’s theme was Fairytales / Disney characters, and our mommies turned up dressing in different Disney characters with their little ones. From Frozen to Snow White; you name it, we have it!

The carnival had many different game stations, terrarium making sessions and a marketplace booth. Parents had to purchase coupons for the stations and marketplace booth, and the proceeds collected from our carnival will be donated to their SSDB’s beneficiary – National Breast Cancer Foundation.

Our mommies and children were greeted by our beautifully decorated photo-booth upon entering the centre. They used the different props prepared by our teachers and took turns to have their pictures taken as a great keepsake for all our mothers to take home. 😊

Some of the game stations we had were bowling, hula hoop and wheel of fortune. We even had henna paintings done by our talented Teacher Annie! Our mommies got to spend a fun-filled morning with their children through the various activities and bonded very happily together.

One of our popular stations was our “Little Hearts in a Jar Terrarium Making”! Each mother and child get to have a hands-on experience to create their own terrarium together that they can bring home and continue to care for it together. As we always believe, the best gifts for loved ones are those given from the heart and what better way to show appreciation for our mothers during Mother’s Day than a handmade gift for them!

After an exciting morning of games and activities, it was time for our little ones to perform their dance and song that they have prepared for weeks, dedicating them to their mothers. Each class performed to different Mother’s Day songs to express their love for their mothers.

We ended our carnival with an award ceremony for our “Best Dressed Mother-Child”! It was definitely a tough decision to choose a winner with all the wonderful outfits!

At the end of the carnival, all our mommies, children and staff have a heart full of love and warmth. It was definitely a heart-warming day to see all our mommies and children expressing their love for each other in their own unique ways.
